New AT&T data plans for smartphones

Beginning June 7, 2010, AT&T is eliminating UNLIMITED data plans and offering two new wireless smartphone data plans:

DataPlus plan is $15 per month for 200 MB of data. This plan is designed for customers who primarily surf the web, send email, and use social networking applications.

DataPro plan is $25 per month and includes 2 GB of data (the equivalent of downloading 1,000 sixty-second YouTube videos every month). This plan is designed for those who regularly download or stream music and video, or use other high bandwidth applications. Additionally, smartphone customers who choose DataPro will have the option to add tethering for $20 per month. This is available to iPhone customers as well.

All smartphone plans include unlimited Wi-Fi usage and unlimited access at more than 20,000 AT&T Wi-Fi hot spots.
