I had a very enjoyable and informative visit yesterday at the Dell headquarters located in Austin, TX. Reviewing their new blade servers, tips on data center power and cooling were just a couple of the many great topics that were covered. There is a problem with SP3 for XP and the same problem exists with SP1 for Vista that affects users of Microsoft’s Retail Management software. They are holding off releasing SP3, and as I understand it, have stopped offering SP1 for Vista until they can adjust the Windows Update application to look for this application on the PC FIRST, and instructing those who have it to contact MS for a fix and it will not let them download SP3 for XP or SP1 for Vista unless it detects this fix is in place.
