I successfully cloned a laptop HDD to SSD with bitlocker encryption (running Windows 7) that has TMP enabled with a Pre-Boot BitLocker PIN. I did the following steps. I did not want to decrypt / re-encrypt as this was to time consuming, also the new drive must be larger or the same time 1) make sure you have a backup of the bitlocker Recovery key (can use this command manage-bde -protectors c: -get ), and a backup of your files.(this is Important!) 2) Clone HDD using sector by sector with your favorite software i used AOMEI Backupper Technician Plus 3) boot up machine with new SSD 4) enter in your exiting PIN, you will get error about system boot information has changed 5) you will need to enter in recovery key, this will boot windows 6) disabled and renamed the bitlocker protectors using the following two commands manage-bde.exe -protectors -disable C: manage-bde.exe -protectors -enable C: 7) Reboot system and will be back to normal
